HTML Editors

A look at easy to use HTML tools (not raw text editors)

WYSIWYG* HTML editors

Programs

SeaMonkey

~ Empty lines are input as <br> (manual set paragraphs)

~ Includes <head> tags

Cons

- No font previews in the font menu

KompoZer

Seems to be a fleshed out fork of the SeaMonkey composer

~ Empty lines are input as <br> (manual set paragraphs)

~ Includes <head> tags

Cons

- Last updated 2010

Online

There are so many online HTML editors out there fighting for a similar domain name

htmeditor.com

https://www.htmeditor.com

(HTM, no L)

Seems pretty good, don't know if it's open source or not. I would prefer a local program instead of a webpage, though.

Markdown to HTML converters

Markdown can be written for the main purpose of converting to HTML. Markdown is similar to Gemini's Gemtext (.gmi) format but with more formatting features such as bold, underline and italics but uses a different format for links.

markdowntohtml.com

https://markdowntohtml.com/

Pros

+ Live preview

Cons

- Can't do double (enter key) lines

Gemtext (.gmi) to HTML

Good for converting your Gemini pages to HTML, but much more limited than using the Markdown converter.

A bunch of them at this stackexchange thread

Bonus

HTML to Gemtext

I could not get html2gemini or html2gmi to work so I used a HTML to Markdown converter, then converted that Markdown file to Gemtext using gemgen from the Arch Linux AUR

gemgen

First markdown-to-html website that came up on my search

Broke emojis but it worked better than expected
